Alexandra Branch - My wife and I loves the restaurant. It is the only restaurant that serves Japanese Buffet with Sukiyaki and Shabu Shau all in one price. The quality of food is good for most of the items (Oishi desu). We loves the Salmon sashimi. Its comes with thick slices and generous helping. We would visit it once every few months. Hope that the restaurant would open more branches so it is more accessible. Keep up with the quality of food!! |

Alexandra Branch - I loved the place and ambience. Most os all the ala carte chirashi was superb. Quality of cold soba is better than paragon. It has Smoke Buckwheat flavour and the texture was chewy firm. Really loved it cause it was really SOBA than any restaurant I taken. The Chirashi has huge chunks of sashimi, it was really worth it. The tempura was a georgeous set. Mr Naka, I see your business has done well, I am happy for you. It is always a pleasure to serve people their fill and value. We love you! |

Quality of food is good and ambience is great. But tables are not big enough to hold too much food if you are in a big group. Had ordered our last order of a cold udon towards the end of our 2 hr session, but waited for about 20 mins and after we had settled our bill before the udon was served. Overall, food and ambience are great and value for money. Service of staffs can be better. |

Alexandra Branch - Hd dinner there last evening with two of my friends. Hv been to the other outlets many times, I recant this is their best outlet of all. Beside their popular ala-carte buffet, they also hv a Robatayaki counter that serves very nice charcoal grilled dishes. Understand fm the chef / owner Naka san, fresh veg, seafood and other seasonal stuff r flown in directly fm Japan every Tue & Fri. Instead of the usual buffet we decided to try out their Robatayaki and that proved to be right choice. We hd Jap's tomato, BBQ sweet potato, and pumpkin as starter, they r really nice especially the fresh tomato. As 4 e main dishes, we hd taken Naka san recommendations to go for 3 types of fish (Sama sashimi, BBQ sardine and sawara), 1 order of king crab leg, a portion of Ton Toro as well as Kobe beef. All the dishes were very nice n I especially love the crab leg n beef (1 of the best I hd taken so far). We finished our dinner with the grilled Onigiri & Jap's peach. Although the meal cost us much more than the buffet, I must said it a very nice & satisfied dinner we hd. One more thing, they really hv a gd collections nice sake & shochu. I will surely go bk again and strongly recommend this outlet to all my friends. |

Neil Road Branch - Last month I went to eat at this restaurant, the service and foods was really excellent. I'm a Japanese food and sashimi lover, always went around to try out different Japanese restaurant but this is really the best. The sashimi was really great and fresh, the ebi temp was good, the way the ebi was fry shows the skill of the chef. Big portion of sashimi. Next week I will be back again for the excellent foods. Keep it up. |

Alexandra Branch - This is their 3rd branch and not known to many yet. I like to sit at their counter table because you can watch the chef at work. Uni sashimi is the BEST and at affordable price. There are many veg varieties - they serve Japanese sweet potatoe, corn, eggplant & tomatoes! (very sweet veg!) Mus try! |

Alexandra Branch - I was there lat week with a friend for lunch. The sashimi is very fresh & the tempura / sushi are very good... . As also commented before, it would be nice if a complementary scoop of green tea or black sesame ice-cream can be included to complete the meal. This place is very new & not many people know yet, so still not so crowded, so service is certainly very very good. I'll certainly take my family there! |

Neil Road Branch - I visited Himawari about two months ago with my boyfriend. It was our first time there. We were sited on the top floor as the first floor was packed. 2nd floor was spacious and cosy. Although food was slow at first, soon it picked up and all the dishes we ordered pretty much came at once. Food was excellent, service was good and value for money. Sashimi was very fresh. My boyfriend and I are heading back this weekend. Highly recommended! |

Neil Road Branch - Went yester to celebrate my friend belated birthday, fell in love with this place. The staffs r very helpful and seem to be "watching" every movement of you when you need order or help. Thought the bill came to 43 plus per person, but it worth the money if you r the sashimi lover. We went there for dinner, by 7 plus, this place is already crowded, need to make booking if you coming wkend to avoid disappointment. |

I was pretty disappointed from my recent visits to other Japanese ala-carte buffet restaurants (sad to say, the more famous ones, while not many in Singapore as we know it (for die-hard fans of Japanese food!!), are resting on their laurels and have deteriorated in standards after establishing themselves a name.) After looking at your website, I decided to embark on this culinary adventure on 13 December 2007. To my delight, your restaurant has far exceeded my expectations and the trademarks of good Japanese food - Value for money, Freshness & quality, impeccable service! Staff were generally courteous, well-versed in food knowledge and expedient in delivery. Orders were taken digitally, without us having to remind staff what items were unserved yet, and portions (especially sashimi of course!) were generous. Every dish was painstakingly prepared to delight the customer, particularly the garlic fried rice which was very addictive! Noodles like cold soba were slooshingly yummy! Suggestion : Would have made a perfect meal if customers could get a small complimentary scoop of ice-cream of our choice - e.g. Macha, Kurogama! Have recommended this place to my friends!!! Will definitely patronise this restaurant with my family again! Good job and thank you once again. |

Neil Road Branch - Looking for a feel of personal touch from the chef and service staff? Yearning for reasonably priced and salivating Japanese cuisines? Himawari Japanese Restaurant has to be the place! Heard so much from friends and colleagues, and when I eventually visited its Neil Road branch, I knew immediately from the first dish that I was in for a great time at one of best Japanese food chains in Singapore. The impeccable freshness and tastiness of its food will certainly draw repeated patronage. |

Himawari Japanese Restaurant is definitely worth a try for those who love Japanese food, especially the Shabu Shabu steamboat. Besides the Shabu Shabu which it is quite famous for, personally I feel that its dessert - black sesame ice cream is very very delicious and worth trying. In addition, the staffs are friendly and provide excellent service... . |

Best Ala-carte buffet tried so far. Very fresh and nice Sashimi / Sushi as well as cooked foods. Especially the Shabu-shabu is a must try dish. The Chef, Mr Yoichi and his staff are very friendly and provide very good service. Really value for money, just the mixed sashimi is already worth the money spent (include Hanachi, Salmon, Tuna, Tai, Ika and few others). |

Quite good price for the fresh Sashimi. Beef for the shabu shabu was excellent, especially go with the steamboat sauce. Other dishes also not bad. Try their garlic fried rice, very good and special. The prawn used for tempura was fresh and crunchy. In all, food was good and value for $. Weekday not much crowd, but weekend, reservation recommended. |
