I went to eat Omar Shariff with a group of friends to celebrate a farewell luncheon. We asked the manager to recommend a few dishes and give us the best of what they had. It was an exquisite selection comprising of the following:

Whole Tandoori Chicken - the flavouring was very tasty and the meat was just the right texture and tenderness. The aroma from the Tandoori Chicken made us all very hungry immediately.

Mixed Naan - Plain, Butter, Garlic and Kashmiri. The Naan was simply delectable, especially the Kashmiri Naan which was filled with cherries and went very well with the gravy.

Saffron Rice - Fragrant aroma couples with just the right texture for the rice. We gobbled down many servings of rice before the meal was over.

Butter Chicken - Definitely the best dish we tried, the butter chicken is served in a very tasty gravy and the chicken is the kind that melts in your mouth and is not tough at all. The serving is very generous with many chunks of chicken in the gravy.

Roganjosh - Mutton main course that was a delight to eat. While I was am not big on mutton usually, the dish had me gobbling down mutton more than I ever had.

Daal Tadka - Yellow Lentils Gravy. Goes very well with the Naans, a perfect compliment really. And when spread on the rice, gives the saffron rice even more flavour to compliment the meats.

I would have to say that this Northern Indian restaurant is one of the best I've tried in Singapore. My friends who were with me that day all agreed and we have made subsequent visits thereafter again. Definitely worth repeated visits, the location is convenient at the end of Sixth Avenue, and the manager really made it a point to make us feel at home. Great!

I recently dined at Omar Shariff with my family and a friend for the first time. The quality of the food is excellent (delicious and original food), the service is great (friendly and attentive staff), reasonable price and suitable background music with romantic setting. It's a good experience going there. I recommend it to anyone, and I mean anyone who likes to try authentic Indian food.

The food especially Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken are excellent. The ambience kind of classic and romantic and the service perfect. Good food, good ambience, good service and value for money. You have to try to believe me. Cheers.
