For both Mee Siam lover and non-lovers. Their Mee Siam does not make you feel too extreme to taste. Not too sweet, too sour, too spicy, everything just Nice. We ordered their Kueh Lapis, 100% hand made. Thumbs Ups! Always must pre Order soon coz they did only limited quantity. Must try their soto Medan, another good place for Soto lovers.

Mee Siam is never my choice of food. But I finished every single bit of it from this stall... no comments to say... just try and you know is worthwhile for the price you are paying. My only worry is... how many times more can I taste their mee siam again and again.

Hardly any stalls close to their unique Popiah taste. Strong thick black sauce work wonders with the combination of turnip gravy. Skin dissolve into mouth with few munch. Whole roll stuffed with ingredients that fulfilled my expectation. Mee siam tastes like combi of nonya & India style that is thick yet soothing. Another crispy stuff in mee siam that blends perfectly well. Overall standard Great! With this price nothing much to complain.

Love the spring roll. Its rich in ingredient and has a very traditional popiah flavour. Enjoy the unique crispy bits within the popiah. Crusty and adds a unique "character" to an ordinary item. The only problem is that the method of wrapping is not tight enough and when you hold it, all the ingredients start to fall out.

The taste of the popiah (spring roll) from "You Li" is very different compared to others. When you bite on it, you feel the crispy bits (fried fish), very unique, crunchy n tasty... very well done. They neither used shrimp paste nor peanut but the taste of the popiah still there. Their mee siam is also very delicious, although no coconut milk is added, the gravy is still thick and a little spicy. Highly recommended, die die must try!

My favourite dish is spring roll. This dish has personal touches given the fact that it uses self-made ingredients. The crunchy and crispiness brings out the flavour of the fresh ingredients used. Just the thought of it makes me salivate!

The mee siam in rich gravy was absolutely value for money! I was impressed with the aroma of the gravy even though the stall owner did not add any coconut milk to it. Also, my throat didn't feel scratchy after eating the mee siam so I felt very satisfied after having it!

I like their traditional popiah because they use the freshest ingredients and that combined with the awesome home-made sauced makes the popiah a delicious, mouth-watering meal on its own.

Mee Siam in rich gravy is my favourite dish because of the fragrant, rich gravy served up together with generous ingredients. It is truly authentic reminiscent of how my grandma cooked mee siam for me.

The popiah is very filling and crispy! I love the sound of "crunch" when I bite into the delicious popiah! The sauce is one of a kind because I won't be able to find the same in another Popiah stall!

The popiah though is not made using peanut, is very crispy. I think it uses fried fish to give the crispy feel. The popiah skin after adding the ingredients inside is not soggy at all. The turnip is very fragrant and not too sweet, sweetness is just nice. They are very generous with the ingredients inside the popiah and the popiah is thicker than usual ones. They use Chinese sausage which is not usually seen in stalls selling popiah due to the stalls trying to cut cost. It is healthy as there are alot of vegetables inside the popiah such as beansprouts and lettuce which does not make the popiah feel too dry. The egg is very fresh. Priced at $1.20 per roll, I feel that it is really value for money and cheap.

My favourite dish is the mee siam. The owner doesn't use coconut milk, yet its gravy is still thick and even more fragrant than those using coconut milk. No coconut milk is used hence it is healthier for the old folks to consume. The sweetness of the gravy is just nice not too sweet. The gravy tasted full of flavour like they use some meat to prepare the gravy instead of putting msg, sugar etc. The spiciness of the mee siam is just nice. The bee hoon comes in one whole strand and is not cut into shorter pieces. The ingredients such as cut eggs and tau pok are all very fresh. The owners are not stingy at all with the ingredients. The mee siam is really value for money since its gravy is specially prepared and not concocted using coconut milk. It is less sinful to eat You Li mee siam frequently.

My favourite is the Popiah, which I have patronised the stall for about 18 years. The turnip fillings is very fragrant cooked with the right fire that bring up its taste. Also inclusive of the crispy, crunchy bits wrap in the popiah skin.

I have been moving around the world. Whenever I stop at S'pore I never want to miss my spring roll at "You Li". No matter what, I will rush down to eat. Not many people is aware that old owner Mr Tan is a humble man that seldom wish to arouse media or food reporters about his excellent skill. I suppose when everyone is receiving good comments on media, he still grateful with his own supporters humbly. No publicity yet still providing his best effort to produce best quality. I give his food excellent! Attitude supreme Excellent!

My Mum is a Mee Siam Lover and tried many places. She just kept nodding her head and said "This is good mee siam with thick gravy yet no additional of coconut milk. It must be cooked by a very old, experienced chef?" We are surprise to learn that those gravy is solely done by the old owner's son. Thumbs up...! Not many new generations can successfully take over old culinary skills. Keep it up.

We called Paul to provide a delivery service for the Popiah, Mee Siam and Mee Rebus for 10 to 15 persons. We must say the presentation and quality of the food exceeded our expectations by far. The food came in very nicely packed and ready to serve and the food was so Delicious.

Make me recall all traditional taste during our early days. Be it mee siam, spring roll, mee rebus. I need to work but still purposely drive there to buy for my lunch break. They are the family that do spring roll business in 50s & very well-known. 3 shops left at Bendemeer, Whampoa & Marine Parade. Real expert even at the early days. Don't miss it!
