About Hainan Cuisine & Snacks

Hainan island is a tropical island with countless coconut palms in the village and field, by the seashore and on the roadside. "Yi-Bua", made from coconuts are a few of our local Hainanese food. In the old days, this snack is normally eaten at special occasions like weddings and birthday. Relatives are given this snack by parents to announce the first month (as well as first year) of their new born baby. These day, you hardly get the chance to taste this delicious traditional snack in Singapore. If you want the best Hainan Snack, come to our stall today!

Yi Bua is the most excellent in Singapore! The best food of all Toa Payoh! Hahahas.

Come across this humble little snack stall nestled in the wet market of Toa Payoh by chance. The Hainan Yi-Bua – a traditional Hainan delicacy is wonderfully awesome and every bite of it does bring back memories of the Hainan kampong where I was grown up!! Come to think of it, it is very unfortunate that my dad do not have the chance to try them as these are his favourite. Trust me, it was a great discovery – a GEM of the market where it is located!!!
