Happy Pot, this cute-looking charcoal-based terracotta (earthen) pot is traditionally used to make porridge and soups. Though more labor is needed than conventional methods, it still provides one of the best methods to control the degree and duration of cooking heat (火候)which makes the soup taste better. In Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar, they are used as hotpot / steamboat. |

Tips on enjoying your Happy Pot / BBQ Recommended order of enjoying your hotpot: (1) Add fishballs, fried beancurd, sausages, noodles, rice vermicelli to your pot & wait for 2 minutes. (2) Start eating by swishing your pork / beef for 20 - 40 seconds, dip them in the sauce and eat it with your rice / staple. (3) Use your ladle for your chicken and eat them after 2 minutes. (4) Start drinking your soup now & then. (5) Add in portions of veg & mushrooms a bit at the time. (6) Lastly, put in your shrimps and shrimp dumplings and eat them after 2 - 4 minutes (shrimp changes the taste of your soup). * BBQ mushroom: 3 - 5 minutes (don't throw away the juice from the mushroom, that's the yummiest part!) * Pork Rib: Need to be heated over the fire for at least 5 - 10 minutes. You should make sure that the pork is cooked! |
