About Lee Do Restaurant

Lee Do Restaurant was set up by the late Mr Tan Seng Eng in 1964 at a small HDB coffee shop off Bendemeer road. The block was torn down to make way for a new condominium. It was relocated to the present address at Ubi Ave 2, Automobile Megamart in 1999. We still retain the casual dining atmosphere of the old restaurant and the reasonable price range to our loyal customers.

Fuzhou, is the capital of Fujian province. Fuzhou cuisine is more seafood and soup base as it is near the coast. The all time favourite is the red wine chicken soup, make from red lees and fermented rice. Fried pig's liver, seafood soup and white rice cake. For special occasion there is the fishball soup with meat fillings. Our crowd puller is the COLD CRAB which is not a Fuzhou dish but was pioneer by Mr Tan Seng Eng in 1977 after the flower crabs ran out of supply. We serve the crab “chill” with yellow roe (male crab) instead of the Teochew crab with red egg (female crab) serve at "Teochew Muay". In-house specialties include Prawn Rolls, Ikan Kurau fish head and tail, Fragrance crispy duck, Honey pork ribs and steamed white cabbage.

Mr Tan started the restaurant in the early nineties and is now run by the second generation. There are now not many restaurant serving the various Fuzhou (Hockchew) dishes.

17 Oct 2010	Madeline Chew / Admin Officer	Thanks to my colleague, Ms Tati Tan who brought me to the restaurant. The Red Wine Chicken Soup is so good and tasty. The Brinja and Bean Sprout are also recommended. There is no service charge for this restaurant.
18 Mar 2008	Mr Tan WJ / Self-Employed	It was my very first time to a traditional Fuzhou restaurant and I must say that I was very surprised at how delectable the food at Lee Do was. The Cold Crab here is a must-have (which I was told by many friends already) but I realized that they had range of other equally scrumptious specialties too like the crispy duck which was so crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. Heavenly. A noodle fan, the Fuzhou dark soy sauce fried noodles really reminded me of those KL fried noodles. The chicken in red wine was also a wonderful first experience for me. Definitely going there again, considering its really value-for money!
