About Poh Cheu Handmade Soon Kueh . Ang Ku Kueh

(We are the only outlet, no other branches!)

The first generation founder of "Poh Cheu" was Lim Kim Noi, Neo Poh Cheu couple. 30 years ago, Lim Kim Noi started off selling homemade kuehs in Boon Lay as a mobile hawker. Due to my fine culinary skill in making delicious kuehs, customers love it very much. In between, "Poh Cheu" has been shifted from Boon Lay to Jalan Kayu, followed by Bedok, and finally settled in Bukit Merah.

Until today, "Poh Cheu" second generation descendant, Ng Kim Sing, Ang Eng Wah couple still insist in hand making instead of machine because this is the only way to maintain the highest quality of the kuehs. In 2012 October 3, "Poh Cheu" opened a new store, in the vicinity of existing store, unit number #01-222... pushing the family business to the next level. Third generation descendant Joe Lim, Jared Ng cousins plan to open up "Poh Cheu" franchise business in future.

"Poh Cheu" handmade Soon Kueh and Ang Ku Kueh are very popular. All kueh lovers will not miss! The handmade soon kueh in terms of quality and taste are far more better than those produced by the machine. The soon kueh skin is thin and transparent, filling is full and fresh with fragrant smell, it was so tasty and yummy that all must try! Other well-loved kuehs are ku cai kueh, bamboo shoot, yam kueh and rice cake.

Ang Ku Kueh is an essential festive holiday snacks. "Poh Cheu" ang ku kueh skin is thin and non-sticky with full filling. By looking at the bright and different colours for different flavours of ang ku kuehs will definitely whet your appetite. Other than the traditional green bean and peanut flavours, there are also salted bean, durian, yam, coconut, red bean, coffee, mango and green tea flavours.

The Soon Kueh n Ang Ku Kueh is very tasty especially the filling of both soon kueh & ang ku kueh. The skin is soft just right compared to others, they are thin n I feel like having one after another piece. U must try n its wonderful. Compare to others, they are the best.

The soon kueh is fantastic. Taste nice and delicious… skin is thin with generous fillings… and the price is then cheap, worth giving a try. Do not miss their ang ku kueh as well!!!

I’ve been eating Soon Kuehs and Ku Chai Kuehs all my life and I must say I have never seen or tasted anything better than Poh Cheu’s. The skin is of amazing quality, very thin yet it holds the filling. What surprises me most is that for only 50 cents a piece, the amount of filling in one Ku Chai Kueh can be used to make at least 3 conventional ones. These are truly the most generously filled quality tasting kuehs I’ve ever had. Breakfast will never be the same again.

I am amazed to see so many different kinds of flavours for one of my childhood’s favorite snack – Ang Ku Kueh. And the taste of this little thing is so delicious that nothing can match it, not even portugese egg tart or rotiboy or whatever new thing in the market. Oh, my beloved childhood’s delicacy… .
